ICOOR goes to the ITS 2023 in Lisbon

This year, the city of Lisbon is going to host the ITS European Congress 2023, the international event focused on smart mobility and digitalisation in the transport systems. The event is organised by  ERTICO-ITS Europe, a public-private partnership focused on providing and developing Intelligent Transport Systems for the European market, and the Lisbon City Council , and it is going to take place at the Lisbon Congress Centre from the 22 nd to the 24 th of May. The ITS European Congress 2023 gathers all major players of the  ITS ecosystem, it encourages companies and organisations to present their products and innovations to the international community shaping the future of the entire transport industry. It is a unique chance to discuss current and future trends, address target groups and network with several international stakeholders.

The main theme of the ITS European Congress 2023 is ITS: The Game Changer  listed into five different topics: cooperative, connected, and automated mobilitynew mobility services, freights and logistics, digitalisation and the data value chain, future traffic management The ITS European Congress 2023 is going to present special sessions like the special interest sessions (SIS), the strategic future sessions (SFS), the technical/research paper sessions and the start-up presentation sessions . Many international speakers coming from different sector of the transport industry are expected to attend, governments, private sector, and research institutions alike. The ITS European Congress 2023  will ensure an heterogenous discussion on the topic of smart transport and mobility.

ICOOR will participate to the ITS European Congress 2023 represented by:  Michela Apruzzese – Senior Project Manager, Giulia Renzi – Senior Project Manager,  Roberto Cavicchioli – Researcher – and Piergiuseppe Di Gregorio – Project Manager.

The first presentation will take place on Monday 22 nd of Mayfrom 11.45 to 12.45am, during the TP8 : Safety and Security 2  where Roberto Cavicchioli will speak about Safety and Driving Awareness in Connected Vehicles in 5G Enabled Infrastructures Reaching the L1 .

On Tuesday 23 rd of May, from 10.30 to 11.30am, during the TP18: Digital Logistics Platforms, Michela Apruzzese and Giulia Renzi will present the   Innovative business models in ports’ logistics: the 5G-LOGINNOV project paper and The Cost-Effectiveness Analysis in the 11 pilot sites of the FENIX project  paper.

On the same day, from 11.45-12.45 am, Giulia Renzi will illustrate the contributions of SINFONICA during the  SIS 19: User needs for inclusive and equitable deployment of CCAM. In the afternoon, from 15.15 to 16.15 pm, Michela Apruzzese will act as moderator during the session  SIS 33: Data sharing and 5G- enabled technologies in logistics: new opportunities and collaboration ideas where also Giulia Renzi  will attend as a speaker.

On May 24 th, 2023, ICOOR will continue to join the discussion, from 9.00 to 10.00am,  Michela Apruzzese will talk during SIS 49: Strategies towards mobility data-as-a-service: discrepancies and commonalities  and from 10.30 to 11.30am, Giulia Renzi will participate to the  SIS 53: Empowering communities through automated mobility education & capacity building. Lastly, Piergiuseppe Di Gregorio  will attend the TP 26: Reducing delivery chain costs 2, presenting  the GAP analysis in the logistics sector: methodology and outcomes in FENIX.

Furthermore, on May 22 and 23, ICOOR will take part to the 5GMeta Hackathon  organised by VICOMTECH: it will be the opportunity for international guests to test the platform technology while participating at ITS European Congress 2023.

The ITS European Congress 2023 represents the perfect opportunity for ICOOR  to engage with international ITS stakeholders. ICOOR has been at the forefront of the research in transport and logistics domain and wishes to continue to do so with the support of its international partners.
