European Federated Network of Information eXchange in LogistiX to support the transition to seamless data sharing

This project is the continuation of the Heero project that prepared, carried-out and coordinated eCall pre-deployment pilots at the European level taking into account the approved standards. The overall project objectives were to implement the necessary infrastructure in Europe with the aim of making the Pan-European in-vehicle emergency call service eCall a reality.

OBJECTIVES

The overall objective of HeERO 2 is “To extend HeERO to new Member States or associated countries to demonstrate the scalability of the HeERO solution and to widen the acceptance of eCall.” To support this objective there are three aims:

  • to prepare the necessary infrastructure to realize interoperability of “eCall” at European level;
  • to boost Member States investment in the PSAP infrastructure and interoperability of the service within the roadmap (end of 2014);
  • to encourage a wider adoption across more Member States.
ICOOR ROLE AND MEMBERS

ICOOR was the coordinator of WP6 (Deployment enablers) which operated horizontally in covering and resolving any lack of integration among the WPs, pilots’, values and experiences, collected in each part of the project, turning whatever gained and any problem encountered into a resource for the entire consortium.
