ELVITEN at the COVID-19 Time

Covid-19 has reduced the movements and transports in all the countries involved in the ELVITEN project. The governments of Spain, Italy, Greece and Germany have, in different ways and at different times, established severe restrictions on travel, up to an (almost) complete lockdown.

However, going against all odds, the electric vehicles of the ELVITEN project have not stopped, at least not completely! In fact, many of the vehicles available (especially in the city of Genoa!) have been used by health workers, doctors, nurses and volunteers who have taken care of bringing groceries home to people in need.

Instead of returning to normality, it would be desirable to move forward , leading towards an efficient sustainable mobility characterised also by the light electric vehicles. Having to optimize public transport taking into account the new health and hygiene rules that will limit the places available, some countries are already working to provide incentives for the purchase of electric vehicles.

We believe in the change: #LetsGoElectric
